My mind now drifts,
Unsure where it is going.
I let my worries take over.
Now they will not leave me be.
My thoughts like rifts.
No longer are they flowing
Gently; waves crash over
A gentle image I set free.
Sleep evades me so,
As if it never was and I am left
Caught in the undertow
Of memories too deft
To ever exist, though
They now leave me bereft.
